Based on a first day impression, and confirmed by true stories that happened to me in first person, these are the first three things I can say about taiwanese people:
1. They don't waste time.
With the high speed train, we crossed the country, from north to south in two hours. As you can imagine, these are good news after 15 hours flying and three transfers.
2. They are very organized, I could affirm that even before arriving.
Alice and the rest of the team job has been brilliant, giving the right information to who needed it when he needed it. Another proof; right after arriving to my host family, Amelia, my "mom", opened her hand bad, took out a folder and from the folder she gave me a paper. It was an empty calendar of my stay. Together, we designed all the activities we were about to do for the next two weeks. Impressive. I usually don't know myself what I'll do tomorrow.
3. They're very nice and charming.
They take lots of efforts to create good memories for you. I've been said that people in the south is warmer than in the north. It may be an stereotype, I cannot assure that yet. The only thing I can say is that I don't imagine how can you be warmer and more welcoming than my new friends from PingTung (special thanks to my mom Amelia)
Keep updated, there is more to come!
