School meeting

Thanks to the kindness of our host families all the participants living in Pingtung meet on Saturday night. They cook, find the perfect place at Chiba school (Gonzalo's host family school) and we just have to go there and enjoy the night.

They make us a tour at the school. It is a pretty big one, and well organized. Every classrom is named after a Disney character. Walls are colourful, full of little cute designs even in the toilet. Children from 2 to 6 years old learn English and Japanese. When one of them finish a book, his or her picture is posted on the wall, so all the walls look amazing. Music is also among the skills they get.

We meet some of the teachers, that take the patience to explain us all the day to day little secrets of the school. I would be happy to go back to my childhood just to go there every day.

Our host families invite Nian Laoshi to the event. The retired teacher give us a useful masterclass on the history of the county, specially the Japanese occupation. He is very passionate and offers himself to show us around Kenting National Park the day after.

My saturday night finishes in an unexpected way. Let's just say that I suddenly see myself on the stage of a Taiwanese live music bar, dancing Santana Latin rhythms with a seventeen - years - old Hawaiian guy. Of course, you won't see any pictures of that!
